Hello

Today my mom tried to do thoracic bridge but she was extremly tight & was not able to lift herself

What may be the reason, which muscle she should work on, which may really help her in her bridge work20171103_120655.thumb.jpg.6eb36d553b78662ab9cf46ec52fac6ab.jpg

Thanks

Hi Rakesh,

pushing into a bridge require both strength and flexibility in your shoulder girdle. I would advice to work through the first part of the TB series and eventually as her mobility improves she will be able to perform an elevated TB. Consistency is the key. Working on the Bridge series as well as the Foundation exercises will build the mobility you need :)

If the shoulder is too tight and the tissues are too tight then it is impossible to create the necessary strength to stretch them out and reach the bridge position. on the other side if you can already show a perfect bridge it is only a problem of strength. by the way, generally speaking, people tend to have more difficulties in reaching the elevated bridge where the vertical component of the weight it is much higher.

Thank you very much pauline and alessandro for your advice ,it really worked , as you said consistency is key . Working on stretch series & foundation really helped .

here you can see it after 3 months some very good progress.

Here is a pic below can you suggest still where need to work on more to do the perfect bridge & which strecth need to be given more focus . Plus the strength is also not that good to hold the bridge for long. Any suggestion that will help to improve will be accepted.

Thanks in advance

Hi Rakesh,

Amazing progress! Well done :)

I’d suggest to elevate the feet in this stretch. This will take the pressure of the lumbar and help you open up the shoulders and Thoracic spine further.

keep up the great work and please keep showing us your progress :D
