Hi there, just a photo.

I think I'm beginning to get the proprioception of the hold.   Sucking the shoulders in (no dislocate).  Aiming for one hands width - currently two.

Need to keep the wrists in neutral.

rib cage down, pulling the scapula down and together?  rotating them from protracted to retracted.

Holding at 180 to torso then lean forward.

Not comfortable and the moment but definately feeling it in the thoracic.  Probably leaning my head to far forward and not keeping my knees down enough - working with 5kg

Hi Paul,

You nailed a few points! Would you mind posting a back view as well? You might want to keep your hands slightly wider at this time in order to achieve a greater lean, then you can narrow the grip again :)

Hi Paul, these points are wrong:

Here is a pinned topic about the scapular positions for the HS1 exercises for further questions:

Many thanks, you need to retract the arms into the shoulder's but elevate the scapula and then protract?

Because if you elevate the the Humerus that would be a dislocate?

cheers

Focus most on simply elevating (shrugging your shoulders) as much as possible for this progression. The rest usually happens naturally, but if it doens't, we will catch it in your form checks.

In dislocates, you want to elevate as much as possible while the bar passes overhead. Once the bar begins moving behind you, you will begin to retract.

Thanks Everett,

This exercise: you pull the stick up, shrugging shoulders up. But stop at 180. Then lean forward.

Dislocates: You pull the stick up, shrugging shoulders up, pulling past 180.  Once past 180 you shrug.

They are both the same to 180 degrees?

Cheers!

If you take a look at the videos in your course library, you'll see where to elevate during dislocates as well as the complete ROM for each.
