Hi everyone,

It's now the second time that i try to stick to gb. First time,  i was bored quickly so i decided to mix gb and weight lifting. I used to train 4 to 5 times in the week but bodybuilding/strength style. What do your think guys of this schedule ?

Monday Upper strenght

  • bench press or dips cycle in 5/3/1  => 3 min rest between sets
  • Weighted pull ups 4x6-10 reps => 2 min rest between sets
  • Upper from gymnastic bodies : Hollow back press progression, rope climb progression, straddle progression
  • Light face pull 3 sets of 15

Tuesday lower strenght

  • Squat cycle 5/3/1 => 3 min rest between sets
  • straight legs deadlifts 4  sets of 10  => 1 min 30 rest between sets
  • Pistol squats supersets with leg curls 3 sets of 10-15 => 1 min 30 rest
  • Core from gymnastic bodies : front lever, side lever, manna

Wednesday Push workout (pump bodybuilding style)

In this workout i superset chest with shoulders exercices. Basically i have 5 isolation exercises for each of them with 1 min 30 of rest between sets

+ Strech series (one of them)

Thursday Pull workout (pump bodybuilding style)

Same as before with a main focus on the back, "light" exercise (isolation)

Friday

  • Handstand from gymnastic bodies
  • light cardio (30 min)
  • Stretch series (one of them)

Saturday

  • Upper from gymnastic bodies
  • Core from gymnastic bodies

Sunday recovery day

  • Stretch series (one of them)

What do you think of this schedule and the implementation of gymnastic bodies? Do you have any modification or advice?

I know the frequency is high ;)

May i ask what are your goals?

Hello petra

i want to be more flexible, aesthetics, and one day (2-3 years) masters some figures of gym and to take pleasure when i train =)

Great!
With only weightlifting you won't become flexible nor do any skill figures...
With GST you will become more flexible, and in little time you will master some basic figures of gymnastics.
Aesthetics and pleasure in training are a more personal preference, one might find them in both methods ;-)

You seem to be used to high frequency; If you train every element (core, lower, upper,hs) 2x or even 3x a week plus 1x every stretch,  i bet you won't get bored! (And if you're too addicted to lifting you may add 1x/week)

Consider that one can not be a champion on all fields, so ask yourself where you wanna progress most

why not give it a try and focuse on GST?
