How do y'all recommend going up in weight with Jefferson Curls.  I understand Coach Sommer likes to wait 200-230 days before going up in weight with certain lifts so as to better stabilize the stress load to the utilized joints.

Is this mindset also applied with Jefferson Curls? If not, what's a safe template to abide by?

Hey Maurice,

Great question. J. Curl weight should be increased no more than once every three months. The weight should always feel easy, even right after it has been increased. Be conservative and build weight very slowly.

@Everett Carroll, would you apply the same thinking to all weighted mobility?

Everett Carroll

Nearly. Progress gently with all weighted mobility but keep in mind that different iM's have different end goals. For Jefferson Curls, bodyweight on the bar is the long term goal and is one of the most important mobility drills to permanently keep in your routine. For many others like Standing Windmills, 20kg is likely the most you'd want to build to. There are many threads in this forum specifying ideal weight ranges for mastery and long term weight goals for all of the weighted iMs. If you can't find the details you're looking for don't hesitate to post here or make a new thread.
