wanted to check in to make sure I am doing this exercise correctly. emphasis on keeping the bar from moving forward as I lean forward. Elevating scaps as much as possible, working on slowly narrowing the width of my grip. Let me know if there is anything I can improve on my form.

Thanks!

Everett Carroll

Hey Ryan,

Your shoulders are mobile enough to go much narrower. At this width, you are treating this as a dislocate, which it is not. This is a shoulder flexion drill.

Please send in another video with about a shoulder width grip.

In these shots, your forward lean is great. Try to achieve that much forward lean with a narrower grip while keeping the bar pulled back strongly. Then say hello to your traps ;)

sorry it took me so long to get a video of this. this is how ive been doing it for the past few weeks and it has been lighting my traps up! Let me know if this is correct form. it was  a quick run through not held for the 10s time, just to show you what it tends to look like during my handstand days.

As always thanks!

Hy Ryan probably the only tip it is to hold the bar horizontal. but I cannot understand if it is a problem of the exercise or a video camera problem.

Ill keep an eye on it and do this infront of a mirror to make sure the bar is level

Hey Ryan keep submitting videos. This difference between shoulders is also seen in weightlifting overhead position and is caused by either strength differences or mobility asymmetry between shoulders. You can correct this by consistently working your GST, and being conscious of the difference between the two shoulders (like using the mirror while training).

Gave it another go, and it looks better in my opinion. Just put extra emphasis on elevating my scaps. let me know what you think

Hi @Ryan Segervall,

Looking better but I would prefer the video angle from the side.
