Thanks for any advice! No iM cause, you know... swivel hips

Hi Brian,

Nice protraction and retraction! My only tips are regarding your body line. Focus on keeping your core and glutes firmly engaged, as well as your legs straight. Posterior pelvic tilt is the goal (no arch in the lower back).

Brian Sparks

Great yeah I have a couple ways I do these and was hoping for advise specific to body line. Will post another video next workout for follow-up. Thanks again!

@Everett Carroll Wanted to resubmit after trying to clean up that line you suggested last month. Hope this looks improved, feels better! Thanks for feedback!

Nice improvement here Brian. You're nearly there!

Think of maintaining the hollow body position during the reps. More abdominal engagement is going to help prevent your lower back from arching right at the bottom of each rep. During these, put this checklist on repeat:

-Straight knees (quads engaged)

-Tight glutes

-Hollow body (squeeze abs)

-Elbows straight (triceps engaged)

@Everett Carroll Tried incorporating your cues: very helpful! Hoping this looks better:

Hey Brian,

It's looking better for sure. I'd still like to see more posterior pelvic tilt, however, so think of tucking the pelvis under during each set. Squeeze your butt and thighs while trying to maintain a hollow body shape with your core. That should eliminate the rest of your back arch.

Brian Sparks

@Everett Carroll thank you for your patience with me on this one; your attention to the details has been outstanding. The "hollow body" reference feels spot on. I think this is correct hopefully? Cheers:

Hey Brian the core it is definitely engaged, you can easily see the amount of progress on form from the first exercise to the last video.

Brian Sparks

Thanks @Alessandro Mainente! The cues from the excellent forum coaches (including yourself of course!) have been making this a fun and encouraging process.
