i was wondering if anyone could explain how to start my training program. i have the new building the gymnastic bodies book and it doesn't exactly seem clear to me how to start my own program, i know it says start with 3x3 or 3x5 of certain excersizes and how to pair curls with dips etc. also I understand about doing the static holds that couple with the excersises that you are doing that day, what i don't understand is if there is anything else you should be doing for training, because those three things together only take about twenty min. is that all or is there something that im missing, thanks for the help

A couple of things:

1)Just because a workout is short doesn't mean it isn't very effective.

2)You have not included any leg or core work, which is going to add to the time you spend working out.

3)The statics by themselves will take you a good 20 minutes at LEAST, if you're doing quality work.

If you're used to lifting weights, as I was, then the training here is going to be radically different and much more effective at building strength and the ability to move your body through space. At first you're going to do well with basics,. FSP, specifically planche, front lever, back lever, L-sit, manna. You'll also do well with wall handstand work once or twice a week, building up to three times a week. As for non-static work, start going through the dip progressions, pull up progressions, push up progressions, squat progressions(SLS progressions when you can, but if you haven't worked legs then I recommend you spend time with the two leg versions first), and core work.

After a few months you'll be ready to start changing that up a little, but get through that first and then ask for help when you're not being challenged. In the meantime, read through my log and the logs of others here, there are quite a few of us who keep regular logs of our workouts. They may help you understand how to structure your training better. In the end, just pick some type of full body program based on what I outlined and stick to it for a few months. It's important to build up a basic level of strength before you start messing with anything else.
