Hello, quick question on this one. What constitutes one rep here? We start legs pointing straight ahead, then rotate left until they touch the stall bar and get back to the starting position. Is this one rep or only half a rep? I know it must be mentioned somewhere, but just could not find it. Thank you very much.

Sami, the easy way to understand this is R=1, L=1

Suzanna McGee

In this thread it says 10 all together…

Hi Suzanna,

there will very likely be a correction on the rep count in the future, but for right now I would like you to start and finish your rep counting in the middle. Middle to right to middle =1, middle to left to middle=2. This will be the minimum rep count for windshield wipers unless there is a correction.

Hey Suzanna,

Since the course shows no @ symbol, starting from the center, moving to left, and then back to center=1. Then move to the right and back to center for 2.

However, at the F2 level, you could make it more fun and run with Luke's suggestion. It's my preference to assume the worst and it certainly is not going to hurt ;)

Sami Miettinen

All right!! My life just got (temporarily) a little bit easier.

So far, I have been counting the other way: middle-left-middle-right-middle as one rep. Counting this way I have been able to do Step 8: 10-8-8-7. It will be a breeze now...

Thanks,

Sami

A little bit of advice Sami, the slower, harder, and less traveled path in GST always leads to greater long term gains.

How do the repetition counts work?

For single-limbed elements, e.g. RC/PE1>iM, complete the repetition or time count on each side.

For elements which alternate directions, e.g. RC/PE4>iM, count each side as a rep. (unless explicitly indicated, as in sPL/PE2>iM). That is, left + right = two reps.

For other elements, complete a single set as instructed.

Do not cycle repetitions for the IM's. For example, you will complete one 10-second set of sPL/PE5>iM: Prone 1/2 Straddle Planche Hold after each set of PE5: planche leans, regardless of the duration of those leans.

As mentioned previously and in regards to SL/PE10. From right to left or left to right is one complete repetition.

The full Windshield Wipers are such a step up from this, you may want to wish you stuck with the "harder" count ;)
