Inverted pike help

I have the CoC grippers (was curious to see if they would help for climbing) and would have to say no. The grippers train "crushing" grip strength, whereas for this you need to hold a certain grip and for a long time. As it turns out (I found out from a long time coach), there is no correlation between climbing ability and gripper grip strength. 

Your best bet for improving the relevant grip strength would be to implement hanging from a bar (pullup bar, top of stall bars, playground, trees) for 5-7 min each day in chunks of time that you can handle (add them up to the total) for 3-7 days/week. Every day will work best because it's easiest to keep track of. Keep your shoulders active if you have a history of loose shoulders/dislocation. Or take up rock climbing :)

There's a challenge that looks like this, hanging whenever we can.  I think it's @Suzanna McGee who brought me this one!
