Hi Chad,
Can you please post a photo/video of the original exercise? This way we may help you to correct the position so that you will feel the stretch
Hi Chad,
Apologize for being unclear, I meant a photo/video of you performing the exercise. With some corrections, I think you will be able to get a greater stretch
Hi Chad,
When doing this stretch you want to shift your body weight over the ankle. For the picture that you posted you need to stack your hips right over your ankle. Same on the stretch from the courses. For the foot that is up on the block, shift your weight into the toes, also make sure your back leg in turned into keeps the hips square.
Definitely, submit a video like @Pauline Taube recommended this will help us assess what you need to do to feel the stretch.
Hi Pauline and Tanya,
Thanks for your thoughts. Here's the stretch as I've been doing it. I don't really feel much stretch in the back of the leg or achilles.
Thanks guys!
Raise toes higher, closing the angle whilst keeping heel down ![]()
To go further lean over it a la single leg pike. Pulling your torso down is also an option
Thanks for the video, Chad.
Nice pointers from Tanya and Jon. Try to place your back foot slightly further behind. Also as you lean forward, press your hip backwards so you are creating and APT. This will help you engage the whole back of the leg from your hamstrings to Achilles.
Let us know how you go
Thanks for the advice guys!
