Hi,

This is from my 1st HS session. I did longer than the week 1 prescribed time but wanted to get a feel for the exercises.

Probably best to skip to 2:35 as this is my third set and I've more idea of what to do (though obviously there's still room for lots of improvement!)

Thanks

Hi Greg,

It looks like you are off to a good start. On your PE, keep working on getting your hips directly stacked on top of your shoulders. You are also picking up quite a bit of curl in the spine. Keep working on straightening your back.

On your iM it looks like you are doing a pretty good job. It is difficult to tell how close together your hands are because of the angle of the video. With your next submission, please also include a video taken from the back of both your PE and iM. For now, I recommend dropping weight so that you can focus on opening the shoulder angle more. Your goal is to open the shoulders to at least 180 degrees. You're almost there, keep working on it!

Thanks Jeff.

Hands were strictly shoulder width apart, but will include a video to show next time. Is it best to keep shoulder width or start a little wider?

The iM has highlighted tightness in the front delts. I'll add in some elevated cat and I tried some foam rolling of the front delts.

Cheers.

Begin with the grip THAT ALLOWS you to OPEN THE SHOULDER UP  to full flexion. then reduce it with the time.

Hi @Jeffrey Bittner @Alessandro Mainente. Please can you check my latest attempts.

I tried to get the hips over the shoulders. If i straighten my back anymore my knees lift off my arms. Ive widened by grip too.

Ive added in side and back views of PE and iM.

Thanks.

Nice work here, some suggestions:

-do not extend the wrists in the IM

-stretch your glutes and adductors (they are pretty tight from the back view ;-) )

Cheers Alex.

Thanks for the suggestions :)

I think everything is tight!

Alex should I add some extra Piriformis & Butterfly. strecthes from the MS series? If yes how long duration per set and how often would you advise?

Thanks again.

Probably couple of sets of 2' every days.

Hi all,

Ive been on HS PE1 for a bit but havent yet form checked the Wall exercises.  I notice on the 3rd exercise (WR/pe1) i'm not keeping my arm straight but i think thats down to fatigue due to doing an extra set for filming.

I'm making slow but steady progress (i think) on the iM with decreasing grip width. This is the last set and I went a little closer together. How is the lean / shoulder angle looking?

Cheers!

Hi Greg,

Nice work on your wrist exercises. It looks like your right wrist is quite a bit tighter than your left. Because of that you have a tendency to bend the right elbow. Work on keeping the elbows straight as you do these exercises. On your wrist push up only bend the wrist as much as you are able without bending the elbows. Keeping the elbows locked will help you get a deeper stretch.

On your first knuckle push ups make sure that your knuckles stay pressed into the wall throughout the set. You can see in your video that they have a tendency to come off the wall. Work on straightening your right wrist completely on this exercise.

On your wrist rocks you are letting the elbows bend too much as you rock backwards (towards the ground). A small bend is acceptable, but bending too much takes away from the stretch.

On your fingertip push ups make sure that you are only going onto fingertips on one hand at a time. Leave the other hand flat on the wall.

Nice job on your iM. Your lean and shoulder angle look good. Keep working on bringing those hands closer together.

Awesome work!

Hey Greg, nothing to add to Jeffrey analysis.

remember to film yourself from the front or from the back to check for symmetrical work.

Thanks for the detail Jeff, much appreciated.

I'll get to work!
