SL/PE4 Setup Alternatives for Arc Up

Hi all,

I'm looking at SL/PE4 for Arc Ups, and wondering what some of the alternatives people have used for setup?

If at a gym, i'm considering the back extension machine (that supports you at an angle, cushion at ankles and hip). Some places have Glute Ham Raise machines as well. Anything better or other alternatives?

Also curious what people have done at home. Pictures are welcome!

If I don't have equipment at home, is there enough value to simply do "superman" arches on the floor instead?

Thanks

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for reaching out.

The GHR machine is a great alternative if you have access to it. The back extension machine will not do the job.

Here are some other substitutes you can use if you don't have a GHR machine or training at home:

-Box, bench, table, couch, or counter with feet tucked under stahl bars, dumbbell rack, or held by a training partner.

-GB Back Strap on stahl bars OR in doorway using the GB Door Hanger Set.

-Laying on top of parallel bars or dip station widthwise with feet tucked under a bar and torso hanging off the opposite end.

Hope this helped, let us know if you have any other questions :)

Over the side of my living room couch, and hold a kettlebell with my feet, or have one of my kids sit on my feet :)

Sounds like a great setup Matthew, and cool that you include your kids in your GST :D

Thanks for the answers so far. Good suggestions here. I'll definitely try the dumbbell on feet over a couch.  Thanks.

Always welcome, let us know how you do :)

Just so you have an idea of how much weight is needed, I am around 170 and i found i needed a 30-35 pound weight held between my feet to keep my body balanced properly.
