What I took from the article (besides some nice science on handbalancing) is why balance is very specific.

The author of the article, Greg Downey, is the author of a very good book, Learning Capoeira, which I recommend highly. It is one of the best books I have read on martial/fighting arts, and was based on the author's anthropogical field work. I look forward to reading the article; thank you for posting the link here.
