HANGING RINGS

Hey Jay,
50cm apart is ideal. If you have an at home setup that doesn't allow that then do what you can.
How high? should they touch the top of the shoulders while standing, be slightly above, or slightly below?
The rings should be touching around the top of your chest or shoulders at the top of the row.
If you do not already know...
1. FIG standard width(50cm) makes some preparatory and or specific elements easier or harder.
2. While shoulder width, also, makes some preparatory and or specific elements easier or harder.
For whatever you are currently working on. Ultimately what width you choose to use, is your choice. One difficulty level... might be better for learning the form while another is better for developing physical, brute, strength once you physically learn the mastery standard form.
We all have to remember gymnasts favor tendon development (aka: muscle tone) over hypertrophy(aka: puffy muscle) for the strength they need for the tasks they give their body.
Hello Gentlemen,
No need to use different widths for your rings; use 50cm. If you need to maintain a narrower grip, than perform the element on a single bar.
