hey guys,

just looking for a little guidance regarding which route i should be taking my GB training as a long distance runner. to be more specific, i just finished Fundamentals and now i'm wondering if it would be more beneficial for me to go with the Foundation Series, or something more along the lines of the Stretch Series/Popular Package. i have no intention of beefing up my upper body, rather my focus is on strengthening my core and all the connective tissues/joints in my legs, so i'm a bit lost about which would be more beneficial.

any advice would be greatly appreciated..

thanks!

Hey Oliver,

Congrats on finishing Fundamentals! I began Foundation One and Stretch after running long distance for a number of years. During my running career, I didn't take great care of my body and got pretty beat up. Thankfully, my hips, knees, ankles, and even my running form started improving rapidly after starting F1 and Stretch. In my first year of training those courses together, all of the nagging issues I had were gone.

I suggest you give the popular package a try. Don't worry about putting on mass in your upper body. With all of the running you are doing, that will be pretty hard to do and that is not the focus of the beginner courses anyway.

@Douglas Wadle is a distance runner too and likely has some good input for you.
