Started Handstand and Foundation....how is everyone incorporating "other" strength training with it? I have been weightlifting for years....and was going to dial it back some with the gymnastic training....but working in something with weights and/or pull-ups/body weight stuff, conditioning (I do a lot of indoor rowing), etc....anyone got any tips?

Thanks!

Hey Cannon,

You have the right idea with dialing other things back to address basic strength and mobility deficits. I simply suggest putting your Foundation and Handstand work first. Also, most weight lifters desperately need flexibility work so consider finishing up your strength sessions with a stretch series or performing one on a recovery day.

Hey Cannon,

Finishing your workouts with on of the stretch series will have great benefits as well as addressing your mobility and flexibility deficits, it will help stimulate your parasympathetic nervous system and recover more fully for your next training session. All of the stretch series are follow along so you can "mindfully", stretch. As with Everett's suggestion, dialing back your weightlifting to address your gymnastics training, mobility and flexibility deficits is definitely the way to go.
