Sorry if this has been covered. Previously after mastering an element you tried mastery on the next one to determine your starting point for that PE. Now it seems like you go from PE 1 step 9 to PE 2 step 1. Is this the recommended approach? For some PEs it feels natural but going from 5*60s hold to 3*12r rocks seems to easy. But maybe it is supposed to cycle between low volume and high volume over time now that we dont have any deloads.

Changing PE

It was mentioned (by Coach or Cory) that it is preferred we "test mastery" over several weeks progressing from step 1, then to step 5, then to step 9 should we feel that the exercise is truly easy for us. I don't think there is anything really preventing us from jumping straight to step 9 using the "workout settings" though. But should you fail, it might be a little tougher to attempt to figure out exactly where you should be (at least for less experienced GB'ers) since there is no longer an automated "mastery test" until you progress to F2.
Honestly though, unless both the PE and iM are mind numbingly easy, it may be beneficial to spend at least a few weeks on a given exercise to really be sure you mastered it before moving on.
Ok, Great thanks!
I think I read that the new system will auto jump you from 1-5-9 if you click "easy" but can't figure out where I read it.
But how would you then go from 1 to 2 for instance?
@Tomas Johansson - If you click "just right" it would move from 1 to 2
Maybe it goes to 5 and then you click "hard" if it is out of reach. Don't know for sure.

or the record the smiley face system operates as follows:
Too easy - bumps up fm step 1 to step 5 to step 9 (mastery) to new PE step 1
Easy - bumps up one step
Just right - remains on the current step
Too hard - drops down one step
