Hi Nuno,
Keep your elbow pulled back more. This will force you to twist more to get it to the floor and build more strength in your obliques.
@Everett Carroll thanks a lot for your time!
just to clarify, do you mean to retract more the top scapula to pull the elbow back?
thanks again!
Yes, exactly.
Hi GB,
are these better?
I am thinking that Everett meant more to keep your elbow back AND keep it inline with the shoulders as you are twisting down. I did a similar version of yours in the beginning and it was a bit easier because moving your arm in the shoulder made to reach the ground sooner and not twist in your hips. Keeping the arm/elbow in one line with the shoulders will force you to twist in your obliques to reach the ground… But maybe wait for what @Everett Carroll says ![]()
Well, thanks for your time Suzanna!![]()
You are "reaching" toward the floor with the top elbow still. Keep it pulled back so that as you twist, it touches the floor due to the rotation of your thorax and not the movement of your shoulder.
Keep in mind that this change is going to make your pelvis want to twist towards the floor. Minimize that as much as possible to better engage your obliques. Watch the technique tip video for a visual of these ques.
@Everett Carroll thanks man! i think i got it.
i am going to try not to do the same mistake again.![]()
HI GB,
how is this? (hopefully better than last time
)
I definitely feel much more contraction.
@Everett Carroll
thanks again!!
Nice job Nuno! Looks outstanding,
