Hey All,

This is my first post, so if its in the wrong place my apologies.

I just started the Foundation 1 program and after two 1hr workouts my lower back is really stiff and in a lot of pain, which does seem to ease off a little during the day.

I had a back injury over a year ago which stopped me from training for a while but was back up to speed by the time i started this program.

Has anybody got any advice on this?

Thanks in advanced.

Could you give us a brief run down of your workout, and what happened with your back the first time? This could help us work out what could be causing your issue now.

In the meantime, wait until your back is back up to speed before continuing. When you do resume, cut back on intensity and reps and sets to ease yourself back in as gently as possible. I've know some people who have a hair trigger back, and it can be a real pain, but you have to be attentive to it. With careful, gradual exposer  to more work load, it can adapt.

Hi Leigh,

You are attempting to train beyond your current capabilities.  Drop down to 30 minute sessions for your training.

Sorry for not responding to your answers its really appreciated. (just figured out how the to find these responses)

Good news is the back pain has gone and i now train

Mon - Upper body + Handstand

Tues - Core + Lower Body

Wednesday - Active recovery

Repeat cycle Thursday and Friday.

Oh the injury was caused the first time by an accidental jefferson curl with 110Kg during a hero workout in crossfit. (my fault entirely)

Accidental jefferson curls at 110kg will do that.
