Thought it was about time to have a check on my form with this element. Really having a tough time with this element :\

As always, all feedback is very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hi mate,

2 points here - sitting up too high with the upper body  (crunching it up) and legs too far from your body. To learn a good hollow shape, especially the lower back position, we want your thighs vertical at this stage, so thatyou can flatten and push the low back into the floor. As you cansee from further progressions extendingthe body will make it more challenging to keep a good shape - no need to make it more complex at this stage :)

Tuck your hips under posterior pelvic tilt ) so that you are on what i can only describe as the back of your butt and lower back.

Feel free to post further and we'll dial in your form :)

Thank you @Jon Douglas! I've tried to shoot another video with corrections. Hope it's better this time;

Thanks in advance!

Better, but the same two areas to focus on.

More PPT here, you can bring your thighs more to vertical to help with this. You should feel your lowest abs and directly above your hip flexors kicking in with this-- try to point with your tailbone continuing the length of your spine, of that helps.

For the upper body, that head needs to not crane up; this will cause problems when you are ready to add rocks to it. From a starting position, lying supine with on the floor, first tilt at the pelvis to push the lower back down and pre tense the core, then rather than closing like a pair of scissors (as we would want in say MnPE1) make the line, hips to head, as long as possible. In the full hollow hold, as in arch holds, the lifting comes as a consequence of this extension rather than the cue being to lift. Whilst first learning this tends to result in a crunch until the distinction is drilled in.

You want to avoid the feeling of a crunch up; this is the cause of the 'alien baby' bump we often see, check yourself for this as I can't tell in your video :)

Hope i haven't info-blasted you too hard :D

Once again, thank you @Jon Douglas! Hmm... I gave it yet another try, but not really sure if it's getting any better :\

Thank you, @Leo Trinidad! Does better mean that this form is acceptable or still some details i need to improve (besides keeping legs etc. together)?....

its acceptable but can be improved by lifting your upper back a bit more. always remember that you can always refine your form as you get stronger. enjoy the process @Tobias Magnussen :)
