This is my sPL PE 2

Petri Widsten

Lower your hips - you're piked - and keep your feet together

Cole Dano

Petri is right on all points, but at this stage, the most important thing for you is to really push into your elbows and get your chest as far away from the floor as possible.

With that then the next is to fix the pike.

If you feel weak in this, then feet apart as a sub-stage is ok, but otherwise, get the feet together.

Jochen Friedrich

Didn´t feel weak at all - just thought this would be correct form ;) shouldn´t be a problem getting feet together. I thought you would prefer a slight bent (being closer to a pike) performed it more flat before but thought after your comments on my HBP i should be more rounded. Thank you for your comments, will work on it

Cole Dano

No worries, I'm sure it's going to come together just fine. We use this shape all the time in GST so it's worth working it out now. And it's hard to know exactly what the shape is in the beginning.

Jochen Friedrich

appreciate your help @Cole Dano - good to know this will be in use all the time!

Jochen Friedrich

does it look better that way?

Jochen Friedrich

And this is what PE 3 would look like:

Feet are together and shoulder high. Suggestions?

Petri Widsten

Both look pretty good, Jochen. Your bodyline looks ok now. A really small thing is to adjust your arm angle to completely vertical (90 deg). Focus on protracting hard and later elements will feel easier. Wait for an ok from Cole though.

Cole Dano

Looks much better, the body line is spot on, now it's jetting the shoulders right.

As Petri mentioned, hands directly under the shoulders, and push hard, push your chest up as high as you can and spread your upper back wide (aka protracting your scapula), this is the key action in planche work.

Jochen Friedrich

Thank your very much @Petri Widsten and @Cole Dano.

It really helps to know what i should look for in my next workout session to make it a great session! Thank you!!

Yeah, we are really lucky to have Cole and other coaches to check our work. Often we just don't know what good form looks like but with some pointers are able to get it right straight away or, occasionally, after a few rounds of checks. This saves a lot of time and frustration.

I get a lot of help from coaches and also try to contribute with my still limited knowledge to give something back to this society.

Jochen Friedrich

Absolutely right! The feedback helps so much!
