hmm, the more i watch the video... do i need to get my knees further away or is this ok? other issues?

Cole Dano

You don't like looking in one palce do you? :)

Knees start off fine but they drift in towards your hips as the set progresses.

You are doing a good job here, but there is one error that a lot of people make, you are trying to use your knees to rock back. Just let yourself rock back, you don't need to pump to roll back and you don't need to get onto your upper back. The rocks take place the rounded lower back, and can feel like they are 'small' in the beginning.

Once that makes sense these will be a breeze for you.

Thank you Cole!

I always thought the ass needs to come off the ground... (?)  Thats why i'm giving this little extra push with my pelvis/lower abs and holding my fingers close to my knees to control their distance.

Ok, i wil try: smaller, faster, smoother rolls! Knees further away.

Ok, one year later (already ? ) .... i'm near to break trough 5x60r and wondering if this form can be accepted? First video is first set of 60reps, second video is fifth set, where my form breaks down on the last reps, i feel my lower back go "bump - bump - bump"

Petra this is so me at the end of FL/PE4, 5th set. I have no advice to offer but I totally share your pain!

Matthias Schwartz

Petra, good work, you are way ahead of me! So feel free to ignore my advice. My only input is to try to follow along with the workout video for this exercise. They do the reps slower than you do, so the set takes longer, with more time under tension. I had been doing the workouts at my own pace and was rudely surprised at how much harder it was when following along with the video. I had to drop back several levels once I discovered this.

Best,

Matt

Matthias, actaually i AM going with the video, specially for this element! You can even hear the clock in the background.

But i know what you mean, in step 7 (4x48reps) they are going much slower! A few weeks on that pace helped me to build more endurance. Then i was very surprised on step 9: the tempo in the follow-along goes up.

Anyway, i think its good to vary tempo sometimes. It gives different inputs to the body and can help go through plateaus.

Ah, thanks @Petra Dvorak I didn't realize they sped up so much later!

Best,

Matt
