Hi!

Would you please check my form?

Thanks very much

This is actually paralleling your pHS work. Same basic issue, keeping those bottom ribs back.

Ideally your body should look exactly the same when it's near the floor as it does at the top of the rep.

You've got that top shape down now, so you just have to learn how to keep tension and keep it at all times.

It may be tricky at first as you have a pronounced habit of arching your way down, so the correct version will feel quite different to you. But being a former member of the arch club, I'm confident you'll work it out.

Just keep positing videos when you're ready and we'll get this looking good.

Thanks a lot Cole for the responses!

i'm not sure what keep the bottom ribs back means ( I have seen a lot of posts with the same advice). Could you please try to elaborate a bit ( sorry, foreigner here)?

Also I was thinking of adding a set of sPL PE3 to help with the form. Is this wise?

thanks again, really appreciate the help so far.

No worries, the bottom ribs are just that the lowest ribs on your body, they are connected towards the middle of your spine, so when you arch they stick out, and if you want to loose the arch you push them back in.

You can see it quite clearly in this photo of the lovely Miss Betty Page, her lower ribs stick forward which creates a deep curve in her lower back. She might be a good diver, but this is terrible form for push ups.

Ha!

i think I got it!

thanks a lot again, Cole!!

Nuno Duarte

Hey guys!

how is this, better or worse?:)

Thanks a lot!!

Cole Dano

Much much better! Looks like Betty helped you out. :)

Nuno Duarte

Ha! She helps everyone!

thanks a lot Cole!

Yes, a huge improvement, Nuno, good job keeping that body tension. I suppose if you want to be really strict with form bring your hips to the floor as well. But Cole didn't raise this so it's not a huge issue.

Nuno Duarte

Hey Petri! Thanks a lot for your answer! I think I see what you are saying.

Nuno Duarte

Hi again!

how am i doing in this?

thanks again for taking the time to answer!

Cole Dano

That's very good.

One minor point, which will make more sense as you continue down the sPL PEs is you don't need to lift your bum so high the ideal top position will look like a straight slightly arching line from toes to shoulders.

Nuno Duarte

Hi everyone!

i realized i haven't post a im form check for this element so here it is.

happy 2017 for the GB community and thank you for the support!

Jeffrey Bittner

Hi Nuno,

Your iM looks good. I would like to see a bit more rotation of the shoulder while the arm is by the ear before lowering the weight. Great job!

Nuno Duarte

Hello again!

is this any better?

and also, is my form on the PE better?

thanks again!

Nuno Duarte

@Cole Dano @Jeffrey Bittner any thoughts?

cheers!!:)

Nuno Duarte
