- Nice forward lean.
- Arms are too wide. Bring your grip in.

Hey coach,
how to increase the forward lean? and it's as important as opening the shoulders for mastery?
Coach is saying that your forward lean is already good, you don't need to increase that
you just need to make your grip on the bar narrower.

Thanks coach, will work on bringing my grip closer! For now my current grip is intense enough!
You need to bring your grip closer now I think Dexter.
Reason is not directly to increase the intensity but rather to make sure you are correctly working shoulder flexion without any dislocation. You can see your upper arms externally rotate especially towards the end. This is not true shoulder flexion.

Thanks for the info Max!
One question though, if I bring my grip in closer, would it stop me from dislocating automatically, or do i still have to actively try to not dislocate, because in the video I was actively trying to not dislocate while pulling my shoulders back, but seems like I was still dislocating.
It depends just how flexible you are. For the most part, it should at least limit it but some people will have to still focus on it. If you think about pushing your armpits forwards while pulling the bar back, it may help. This is a tip that Alessandro gave to me. It can be tricky but once you know the feeling of the position it becomes much easier.

A follow up question regarding this IM, where should i feel it the most?
I think i saw on another post that one should feel it most in the middle traps, however in my case i feel it the most in my front delts. I am unable to post a form check for now since my phone's camera decided to die on me :(.
The move is essentially a seated delt raise, except with a straight bar. It shouldn't be anything else. I've found this out the hard way. A delt raise normally has you standing upright to target the delts, however, by leaning forward the center of gravity shifts back onto the traps, that's why the forward lean is essential -- and also why the arms need to be shoulder-width apart. Someone who has less than ideal strength and mobility will not be able to keep their arms straight and in line with their body, but by flexing their traps they will eventually get there. Don't overthink it and don't try to do anything else. This is a strength movement, but by building the strength the mobility also comes with it. Pretty fantastic.
Hello guys, an update on my form. Seems like i need a bit more flexion?
Hi Dexter,
It looks good. Add one set of this into your handstand warm-up and cool-down. Nice work!
