Hi team, I have the sensation that there is an increased number of the post regarding injuries or users physical problem.

I would like to have a solid policy for injury posts. specifically what do or not.

-if there are post involving people with less then 18 yo (like vannybute) we should not give tips

-if there are people follwing foundation course?

-if the request are submitted into mobility section by people who are not following foundation?

Maybe we could choose from moderattors someone like Mark with the appropriate knowledge or choose to close any post related to injury or post asking for rehabilitation programs.

Cheers

Alex

- questions regarding foundation elements or by foundation students should be relocated to the appropriate foundation private forum

- if non-GB students have a general question then it may be answered in the public forum.  If it is a course specific question, simply relocate it to the private course forums.

- Good idea to always direct the question to Mark or Wes.  This is what I do myself when it is outside my area of expertise.

Unfortunately people think the human body is simple and we can treat them over the internet. It could take up alot of our time trying to figure out what is wrong and how to fix their problem. It is near impossible to do unless you have the person in front of them. I will give general advice and if it is something that seems more serious then advise them to seek professional help.

Most people will be too impatient and do too much, so spending more cycles on an exercise is all they need.

this is exactly for this reason that I've asked how to threat the injuries posts, if you think that it is too superficial a "web-approach" maybe we should consider the idea avoid those situations and ask to stop with injury-post..

That is a good point Alessandro. It seems there is a lot more posts about injuries and some people are giving the bad advice. Maybe we need a standard protocol to follow. I tend to think if someone has not paid for course material they are not serious enough to take up our time in giving specific advice.

For someone that is getting pain doing any paid course material we could advise them to:

1. Post a video of the exercise they are having pain with. If the form is bad and causing the problem this can be corrected on the forum. If the form is good then their problem will be too much load. So they have advanced too quickly, are training too frequently or have poor nutrition.

2. If the pain is mild go back 4 weeks in their schedule for the exercise that is causing the pain. If they still have pain after two weeks then reduce training frequency and improve nutrition by starting Thrive.

3. If the pain is severe take 2 weeks off. During this time keep on training the other bodyparts that are not injured. People that continue to train other bodyparts recover better than those with complete body rest.

4. If the pain has not settled in 2 weeks seek professional medical help. The professional will depend on which country they live in. The health professional could be a physio/chiro/osteopath or medical practioner. They can then work with their health professional on how to get back to training.

This is a rough draft on a Sunday morning. Maybe something like this advice can be added as a sticky on the forum or added in the course material.
