Just Veggie?

So just a quick first question as I look into the dinner veggies.  We're talking about veggies in the dinner (which has other things in it in general) or just veggies for dinner with nothing else?

Assuming it is the first, any tips on ratio to animal protein in the dinner?

Also what about seeds like quinoa?  Any details on why exactly we should avoid legumes?  I dont eat rice or potatoes so that makes the starch source minimal without legumes.

Why no rice or potatoes? A few other very good starch sources: chestnuts, squashes.

I eat quinoa very often, Jeff seems to approve that.

All - Thrive is one step at a time. This step asks the you add vegetables to your dinner. It does not say anything else. Continue doing what you do and just add vegetables to it.

Eric, Add the vegetables to whatever you are currently eating for dinner. Don't get ahead of yourself, I want you to focus on making sure you are adding vegetables to dinner, the ratio does not matter right now. Quinoa is not a vegetable (assuming you are eating the seeds) so it won't count as one. Legumes are technically a class of vegetable but do not count as a real vegetable in my opinion. they also will not count towards this step however, it does not say you can not eat quinoa or legumes in addition to this step.

FNP - Rice and chestnuts are not a vegetables so they cant count as one.

All - Pay attention to details. This step says add a cooked vegetable to dinner. This step does not say anything else. Don't imply questions.
