Shoulder problem

Hello,

So my son has excellent shoulder flexibility, he has simply been working on his GB courses and the Handstand challenge. He has achieved good results in flexibility, as is shown in the attached pictures, and his pictures were complemented by GB affiliates and coaches. He did not hold whatever exercises put more strain on the joints (he didn't feel pain, but he could tell they were a little less proficient than others, mainly the handstand wall stretch with arched back) for very long, and held the passive stretches for ~30s.

However, he has suddenly started having terrible pain in the top of his shoulder and limited ROM. I suspect it is a combination of painful arc and bursitis, but am not sure what we should do. He has been completely resting for the past few days. Maybe he just shouldn't stretch much after recovery?

Thanks.

I would really appreciate some help on this, it's been three weeks since the pain started (I posted two weeks later), and the bursitis hasn't gotten any better...

First step is to take him to a medical professional for diagnosis.
