From what we know know eggs seem to be perfect food for our breakfast:

 - excelent source of fat and protein

 - cheap, fast to prepare

 - nice taste

I have constant access to eggs from grass-fed chickens so quality is not an issue.

On the other hand, there are some myth-like info circulating that eating "too much" eggs can cause cholesterol issues or can damage fertility for men.

Could you please comment on the idea of eating eggs every(or even most) morning for couple of years?

Hi Artur, Eggs are great, good choice. I hate to be so petty as to point out the following but I am just saying in the event someone doesn't know and they get taken advantage of. Chickens are omnivores, they eat more than just grass. A majority of their diet is from worms and the such(proteins) grass is a component of their diet but not the only thing.

As to your question - Its the framework of it that is what you need to change "Can I eat ___(fill in the blank) every single day forever?". That plan will undoubtedly fail at some point in the future no matter how you fill in the blank. Its like having a tool box full of tools and insisting on using the hammer for every job. Develop 3-4 really good breakfast that you like and constantly try new stuff. So no you shouldn't eat eggs every day, nothing to do with cholesterol or fertility

Vinca, good post. Thanks!

Everyone - Read that link if you want to dive into some details.....But, don't come back here arguing stupid points of minutia.

Thanks, I will do exactly that.

From what I remember studying human chemistry, your liver produces approximately 7x the amount of cholesterol every day beyond what you consume. If you happen to eat more cholesterol than average your liver will produce less, and if you eat less cholesterol your body will produce more. Bottom line is cholesterol is needed for so many things in the body on a daily basis, so its not as simple as eating it and it ends up in your blood, It is regulated, and controlled. Also, consumption more or less doesn't make a difference as your body can produce cholesterol by breaking down sugar or regular fats, among other things.

I always tried to look at cholesterol as the ants in your apartment. They don't invade your place just because they are evil and want to sleep in your bed, it's because there is food somewhere on the ground and they are going after it( it is almost always because of cat puke). If you clean up the food they go away. You don't go crazy with ant killer. Cholesterol is just an indicator of health,

if your improve your life your cholesterol levels will normalize/improve, whereas if you just take a statin (lowers cholesterol levels)you are not enabling your body what it knows how to do much better than you do. I hope this rather simplistic analogy makes sense.
