Hi all -

Has anyone ever had success doing foundation one (starting from the beginning) while traveling and living out of hotels? If there's already a post let me know and I'll check it out.

If not, can anyone provide recommendations on how to modify the programming (if at all) when all the equipment may not consistently be available? I have access to F1, H1, and Stretch.

Thanks in advance. - JH

Buy a set of rings, and substitute the Olympic bar work for dumbbells (I'm thinking of HBP and MN). It's suboptimal but for Jefferson Curls it will likely work. As for stall bar work, put a door stopper under a door and use it like a stall bar. Everything else (sPL, SLS, FL, RC) is largely dependent on your body. You may not be able to make as consistent progress on all elements. But you can absolutely work RC, FL, sPL, SLS, MN, and HBP if all you have is some rings, some dumbbells, and a door. As for Handstand, I'm not sure about the ims but i would just say refine your bodyline and work on the strength elements you've mastered. The stretch series can be done anywhere with a little creativity (perhaps buy a yoga block and a stretch strap, if needed). God speed.

If you are starting from the beginning with Foundation...

Front lever progressions need no equipment for first 3 PEs

Straddle planche -- use a bench in the hotel fitness rooms for straddle running man, etc.  Or you can get creative with a hotel room desk.

Manna -- as Daniel pointed out:  dumbbells.  usually available in hotel fitness rooms.

Side lever -- no equipment needed for first 3 progressions

Single leg squat -- no equipment needed for first 3 progressions

Hollow back press -- you need a light weight for xiaopengs

Rope climb -- a set of rings is almost a necessity, but they don't take up too much space in a suitcase. Hang them over a smith machne or a pullup bar or whatever you can find in the hotel fitness room.

Good luck on your Foundations journey.

A collapsible walking stick and a water-weight might be a good way to make a portable weighted bar for handstand iM work. The water-weight can double as a dumbbell for e.g. Xiaopengs.
