Here is my recent form check on the flat tuck planche..

Can anyone check if it is correct?

You need to extend the hips much higher.

The key here is a straight back, not a horizontal back.

Thanks!! I will do that and will post a picture next time I train the planche :)

It looks good to me, why should he straighten out his back?

You can't properly protract and depress scapula if your back is straight, it should be hollow actually?

The goal of the adv. tuck is to increase the difficulty by better mimicking the full planche. If you do not learn how to ppt in adv. tuck planche it will be very hard to learn when you spread your legs into a straddle planche. You will not suddenly gain the strength in the core to ppt if you have not intensely trained for it previously.

The first goal of planche development is hold the protraction and the depression. You cannot do that if you straighten your lower back. The idea that in order to move the knees backward you need to arch the lower back is wrong.

Ask yourself why in Italy we have very nice hollowed full and straddle planche. I spent years saying how to do adv tuck planche with a functional form for advanced version. They spent months only on mastering the good version.

It is not a chance that people with arched adv tuck planche find the hollowed version so hard, because they have never used the correct muscles

Re-reading your comment I think you have misunderstood the principle of hollow body. The lumbar spine is naturally arched in neutral position in the vast majority of people. Hollowing your body is straightening your spine in the lumbar region, not bending the thoracic spine instead.

It is my back musculature that make it look like I am bending the thoracic spine.
