Hi guys, i'm working on the headstand and i'm trying to focus on the quality of the exercise. How does it look like?

In this exercise i try to:

-point my feet

-avoid the lumbar curve

- maintain the glutes tension

- protract the scapulas as possible as i can

Is it correct ?

Thanks for feedback.

Not bad, it looks like your elbows are falling to the sides, keep them stacked over your wrists and as you spread you shoulder blades, elbows will point straight forward and not to the sides.

Dave95

Ok, thanks a lot . Tomorrow i will upload another video trying to do what you have written.

Dave95

Here it is the second upload .

I noticed  some things, keeping my elbows  over my wrists:

- less pressure on the neck

- a better activation  of lower body

- a    major sense of verticality

So, how does it look like?

Thanks again for the feedback.

Mats Trane

Work on reducing the arc in your lower back.

Pratice Hollow hold/PPT on the floor and then try to impliment this while inverted.

Dave95

Thanks Mats. I'll upload a new video in which i try  to reduce the arc in my lower back and to keep the protaction.

Hi guys,

as i promised you , here it is the link to the third  video:

as you can see, since 0:56 i managed to stabilize the position between lumbar curve, toes and protraction.

So, how is it?

Alessandro Mainente

Think like someone gives you a push in the sternum, the cave form with naturally appear.

Dave95

Hi Alessandro, i tried to apply what you have written. I hope to have improved the position.

Alessandro Mainente

There is some more work to do.

Dave95

Could you be  a little more specific, Alessandro? What do you mean?

Alexander Egebak

Imagine doing a hollow hold in the vertical plane. Your position is very unstable which is not acceptable

Dave95

The problem, for me , is :

if i hold the hollow position, my body assumes an arch form. Instead, as in the video, i try to riproduce the form of the guy in the video of the course (so , a straight line ) .

Dave95

anyone can help me?

To improve my form, maybe, can  i put my hands more lateral,  trying to stabilize the position?

Dave95

what do you think guys?

Better, still work on flexing the glutes HARD and flexing the core very hard too... also on bringing the body up in a hollow hold, like someone has punched you in the sternum area. This sort of sensation is very helpful.

Thanks a lot GenericGymnast.  Afterwards i will upload a new video to see if i'm working on HS/PE2 in a right way
