Hi!
As the title suggests, this topic is inspired by the topic in H1 forums initiated by Krel. It would be great to also make here a proper list of the right scapular positions for the TB exercises because there are many issues regarding to shoulders. And if you can understand and control your scapula, everything is easier.
Here I prepared a sort of form based on the original topic, and it can be edit to fill it out. And the next post is my first attempt.
Scapular positions :
- Elevation : scapula toward the ears
- Depression : scapula away from the ears
- Retraction : scapula toward the spine
- Protraction : scapula away from the spine

Micawberian said:First, that we elevate and PROTRACT our scapula during the handstand. I have indeed heard that in some circus circles some people retract (I've heard of it happening, but never seen it), but not in the GB world.
Coach Sommer said:Never rotate or retract during shoulder flexion work. This defeats the purpose; the focus here is on shoulder flexion and upward rotation of the scapula only. Nothing more.
