Slower on the descent would be good. He's dropping, not descending.
Okay. Thanks! What about his protraction/depression? Also, should he step back a couple weeks if he feels some fatigue or should he push through?
Keep that lower back flat all the time and slow down the tempo. Next time you should film the entire body in order to see what his elbows are doing.
Make sure the elbows are locked since there might be a tendency to bend them when the eccentric part is too fast

He should push through but without pain, just fatigue.
He's a child... It will be hard to assess soreness vs pain, so make sure to be careful. I don't know his age, but I think my six year old would have some trouble with thiis concept.
