Reason why Foundation doesn't build up to Full Planche?

I noticed that Foundation only builds up to a straddle Planche and not a full one. Is there a reason for this?

Perhaps because moving the legs together is considered a longer journey in itself.

But it does not matter, that final step is not that hard to figure out training-wise ;)

I think it's also because full planche in my opinion is not realistic for most of the population. You can see how even people who train incredibly hard have problems reaching full planche with great form.

It's a case of 80/20. Vast majority of the benefits of planche training are realised with a rock solid straddle planche.

I understand that going the rest of the way isn't necessarily worth the time investment; cf. I think it was Gregor with a rock solid maltese but no full (ring) planche. Up several levels from floor work but similar principle.

Remember that the course priority is to make you strong, not to get you doing cool moves :) but with a F-series quality straddle planche I doubt it would be a terribly long journey for most

Straddle planche is by far a skill that requires all body activation more than full planche.

it requires:

-shoulders strength

-gluteus stregth so i mean active flexibility

-passive flexibility of both hamstring and adductors

-core activation more than full planche.

for these reasons planche it is more indicative of the general level of an athletes.

Also do not forgive that planche it is a milestone for rings conditioning. full planche is a long term goal on rings so straddle is more realist for cross preparation.

final NOTE very relevant. does  5x10'' str pl guarantee you a full planche on pbars/floor? definitely yes.

For these reasons if I remember correctly Alessio was having troubles with his straddle planche, because of a lack of mobility.
