What is the purpose of Wrist wraps, and should you wear one?

Curious question, about if we should wear wrist wraps when doing straight arm strength (handstands, planche etc). Would wearing it just be enabling your wrist from getting stronger? - like how wearing a shoe with arc support for people with flat feet.

Some people with weak wrist wears it when they train, i was told by a physio that i should do the same, (I injured my wrist from too much handstands and planche works recently).

Wear a wrist wrap if and only your wrist is injured. Wearing one when your wrist is not injured will keep your wrists from growing stronger and it will eventually become a crutch.

I agree with Joshua.  Arch supports and wrist wraps are like crutches.  They can be used as a tool to help you heal from an injury but not meant to be used long term.  The ultimate goal should be in strengthening your wrists, not finding tools to work around weakness.

If you don't have Handstand One, get it and cautiously work through the wrist strengthening exercises.
