Open up your chest to the ceiling where you are at the top of the repetition.
I dont understand what you mean, as the pupil on the video doesnt seem to do this, am i supposed to lower myself with a arched back or?
I think not an arched back, just try to open your chest at top. You need also to point your toes and improve your compression. Don't worry if you don't get it at first time, most of the very first exercises are pretty much about technique.
Okay i Will keep refining, but the exercise is primarly a PPT right?

Well, this is not an exercise which you have to worry about PPT, because as you can see it happens almost automatically, just focus on getting that compression and clean form.
Remember for "what we are working for"! manna development pass through V-up, HLL variation and supperted L variations. in all these PE exercises you aim for much compression as possible. For the mastery you can look for the video demonstration. For the long therm goal you can obtain a superior compression by elevating the chest up especially with V-up with knee extended. with rounded back you will never reach the same degrees of compression. why? because hamstring are inserted in the posterior pelvic region. APT increases the stretch of this area that is the ultimate goal for superior pike and pancake. you can develop an easier APT by opening the chest.
For your curiosity i'm following some classical dancer, they have a superior pike and pancake with perfect APT, they can do straddle V-UP with completely straight back and open chest, their lines are wonderful.
Great answer,i think i see why now ![]()
But when i open the chest im like pulling the shoulderblades together right?
