Pull the bar into the quads and shinbone until your reach the neck of the foot then move it forward under the feet.

Cheers! Is that on the way down and on the way up?
When I started doing these I was lowering the bar as you describe but it felt awkward doing it on the way up so switched to a linear descent/ascent.
Sometimes it looks like you're bending your knees a little, like at 0:21s and 0:34, and also you should keep the descending and ascending motion that Alessandro describes, because it ensures that you're actually getting a nice curling motion, so, keep the bar close to your body. On the other hand, to my understanding, this exercise is all about spinal flexion and you should empathize that pattern, take a look at the difference between my spinal flexion at the bottom position and yours.

the way you use to prevent back injury must be the same as regular deadlift. when 20 kg are closer to the body they are only 20 kg...15 to 20 cm far from legs become 200 kg on certain spine nodes. pull bar on the legs decrease the problem.

Cheers! Your flexibility is a lot better than mine. You're right about my knees, it can be a fight to keep them locked buy I am working on it.
