It's great to see everyone regularly posting on the forum. Let's keep it going!

If you ever have any questions about how to handle certain situations as a mod just start a thread here. Also if you just want to do a little 'insider' chat, this is the place.

With all the influx of noobies, including a small handful that of know it alls, the mods getting out there and positing becomes that much more important. It's easy for the newcomers to over dominate the forum and suddenly expert advice starts to turn into Bro Science.

There are few members that have been placed on an Approval Only status, and for the time being we want to keep a tighter clamp on them. The forum was getting too rowdy, and it's time to calm it down. You all have done a great job already in helping to reel it back in.

So be extra careful with approving. An easy guide is to look at the the users post number.

- If it's 0-3 they have just registered. Most likely they are OK, these are also the guys and gals we want to respond to as resident experts.

- If there are a lot of posts, then they are on approval for a reason. so until further notice, if the post isn't the greatest thing you've ever read, don't approve it. Think, does this contribute to the conversation, or is it just contentious or pointless. If you're in doubt and need some reassurance, approve it, hide it, and report it, then Coach Sommer, Cory or myself can give some feedback.

Thanks again everyone for being part of the moderator staff. It's time consuming thankless work, but oh so important!

Thanks for clearing things up a bit Cole!

Excuse me Cole, talking about digital coaching, more times there is someone who is asking for "form-check" opinion of exercises that actually are foundations material. I'm always opened to feedback but what is the point to distinguish private section of f-series and digital coaching?

Cole Dano

Good question Alex, I asked Coach about this myself a couple of weeks back and it is a judgment call.

The rule of thumb I use is if I didn't know it before I met Coach Sommer I'll move it. IN other words, there are quite a few 'commonly known' exercises that really only come into the public eye after Coach started doing seminars. (e.g. wrist pushups) and should just be moved to the correct Private Forum. Others like planks, push ups and pull ups have always been around and are fair game for the public forum

Hopefully Coach Sommer will add any necessary further clarification.

edit: another tip here is look at what the person calls it. For example I just moved a form check from a guy wanting his Elevated Planche Lean reviewed. There's no way anyone would use that name if they didn't get if from Coach Sommer, so then it's a clear case.

Coach Sommer

Great question, Alex.

I basically break it up as follows:

General questions and basic GST (Gymnastic Strength Training™) info are discussed in the public forum.

Specific course progressions and exercises are discussed in the private forums

Coach Sommer

Also,  except in the most general of terms there will be no discussion of 'what do you think of this routine' in the public forum.

Go ahead a delete that post Alex. Feel free to delete any of his pots that don't agree with you.

Also watch out for first time posters that are advertising themselves or a product.
