Numbness in feet?

I did the Front Split series today and I loved it! But in some of the hamstring/calf stretches my toes and feet started going numb a little. Any idea of what might be causing this? Maybe I am pushing to hard in the stretch?

Perhaps.  See how you feel on the next session.  If the soreness is excessive, then ease back.

I might suggest making sure you are not stretching on a cold floor and that your feet are not to cold :)

Mine go numb too, so here are my thoughts on it. The easiest way for my feet to go numb is if my calves are being smashed by the back of my upper leg like in a seated squat up against a wall. There are some nerves/vessels which are in the meat of your calf which may be getting compressed.

Another theory could be your feet are pronating to give you more ankle flexibility and in turn there is a noticeable uneven crease on the front of the ankle. There is some nerves/vessels which could be getting smashed as well. Just like you want your knee to track over your ankle, you want your ankle to stay on top of your foot.

Never thought about that, will keep that in mind.

I made sure to have my knee and feet in proper position last night while doing the FS but there was still a bit of numbness happening. Not as extreme as the first time though so perhaps in a few sessions it will be gone.

Thanks guys.
