HSPU elevation issue

Hi everyone,

This is my first post, i came in contact with GB some time ago and have chaged my way of training entirely.

First i want yo encourage everyone to get foundations and handstand, they are excellent and i wish i would have purchased them sooner.... :)

My question is the following, what did you do to work the full  HSPU, cause I dont know how to get into position once there is a significant elevation if i try to do them stomach to wall.

Also balance really impides my progress cause, were i to fall i really do not know how to bail out from 20 cm elevations. Thus, i have  recently restarted back to wall HSPU but i do not like them at all,of course tucked elbows, and i try to stick my lower back to the wall in order not to arch an inch.

Maybe this is a stupid thing to ask but really i am working to a full HSPU and do not know what to do. I can do back to HSPU from 20 cm but not a good HSPU stomach to wall and i will need to elevate more since y have long arms so...

Thanks!

This is a general question not Foundation related at all, for anyone who has an answer can benefit us all, having or not the amazing foundation courses

Can you do HSPU stomach to wall without elevation? The best I guess is to get something long like two benches. Then you can wall walk up since using the long sides of the benches. Best is to stop 1 rep short of fail so you can wall walk down also. Otherwise you must be able to shoulder roll out between the benches.

First stick with Head stand pushups stomach facing the wall. Socks can help to slide the feet up the wall.

If this is not a problem, then I would suggest adding balance aspect to the HeSPU away from the wall.

If you find it difficult to balance when pushing up, then just start with negatives (lowering from Handstand).

If you can do free standing head stand pushups, it will greatly prepare you for HSPU.
