Train rings one on same apparatus

The question sounds strange i know but during rings one development i cannot always train on the same apparatus. sometime i can train at home where rings straps are about 2.5 mts long for a decent supp hold, sometime i train in my gymnastic facility where i usually use the elongated straps of about 5 meters.

the difference in therms of swing support hold is simply terrible. so what i have to take as a reference for the progress?

Do you find a reasonable level of carryover from long straps to short / regular straps?i'm actually training handstand on both but it' not enough time that i practice on the long straps.

btw the idea of wider supp hold it's interesting!

It's always a pain with the shorter straps, but you could go a little bit wider in your support hold to add a little more difficulty to the easier shorter straps in your swing. Or play around with swinging HS supports (my favorite).

Hope you don't mind me using the thread. Just found what you said interesting.

How do you do swinging in HS support? Also for that matter, would you also do swinging variations for other skills once you have it? Like planches, crosses, malteses etc. I know there have been some videos of people doing it actually more as a form of entertainment but do you think there are strength applications for such swinging variations?

I did sometime the hs swing as an error, i did a press to hs variation and got some swing, and i stayed in hs until swing finished.
