Hello

I am just playing with ring as Coach explained and did 5 x 12 sec of rMU/PE1. No problem for the strenght for the moment but real pain on the right wrist.

So just a question to know if it's not cheating to put strap on the wrist joint to avoid the pain during "false grip bent arm hang"?

Or it is better to increase the tolerance of pain in this part of the grip for the false grip?

What is it better for the futur to progress along Ring courses?

Thank for your answer.

You shouldn't really have pain, and that would suggest you may not be ready for this movement.  The point of the false grip exercise is to develop the false grip, so you wouldn't want to be wearing a wrist brace as you'd lose the point of the exercise.  once you get through the sPL and RC progressions, your wrists will be very strong and will tolerate that much better, then it's just a matter of strengthening those forearms to hold you there.

In short: there's a reason why F4 is a prerequisite for R1 :)

When you've progressed more and your hands, wrists and forearms are stronger and more mobile, you'll find that the position is no longer painful.

Definitely not painful. How are your H1 wrist progressions?

Ok thank you for your reply.

In foundation I am in RC SE2 , just begin sPL SE4.

But I practiced Aikido for 15 years and had some damage to my wrist with different movement during the past years. No Pain at all in the left wrist. It's just one point on the right wrist.

I will continue to work on my wrist mobility, strenght and play sometimes with rings without strap :-)

Thank you for your advice

i did 4x48 resting 30 seconds. all is fine here, i found a wrist position that is not painful.
