This certainly isn't a stroke of genius, but it helped me:
I have had no success using the suggested furniture sliders for the PE6 progression. Perhaps that was a useful appurtenance for some people. Without being able to easily slide the dorsum of the foot back at the end of the hold, when fatigue sets in, I have had problems with control, lengthening my times, and avoiding falling on the face.
Using a sheet of 1/4 inch thick UHMW (ultra high molecular weight) polyethylene on a typical gym bench, clipped with easily obtainable spring clips, to avoid movement of the sheet, allows alot of leeway in foot placement, and adds security to the move.
Cheap stuff, and easy to cut with a table saw.
