In the deck squat, PE1, it looks like the athlete in the video has his feet about hip width apart. Is that right, or should they be narrower? Is foot spacing a key element of mastery? Thanks.

SLS PE1 Deck Squat - feet width

I think the more wider you place you feet the "easier" it is.
Since everythink in gymnastic is about tension and the best way to create it is to squeeze your bud, quads etc. i always put my feet together as close as possible.
furthermore i additionaly squeeze glutes, abs, traps --- everything until complete lockout of knee and hip (=stand up).
i try to mimik a gymnast end-position after he performed some crazy movement at the ground. hope you understand what i want to achieve!?

On the deck squat, feet together is easier for me. The video looks to me like he's keeping heels together and toes pointed out a little.
I try to keep my feet together. My knees, on the other hand....
I don't think it matters too much just don't go ridiculously wide with them. A safe bet is copying the video at around hip width or even going a bit narrower.
