That's my execution. Unfortunately i have to do that with closed legs (i have a little discomfort to mu adductors).

Note: the sensation while maintaining the hollow is a great butt activation in order to lift the legs up.

Nice  :)

p.s I'm worried about the amount of dust you have there (and in your garage from another post).

the darkness makes me stronger

Coach Sommer

- too much use of momentum into the elevation.

- less assistance from the toes as the feet leave the floor.

- show a more distinct pause after the elevation of the feet.

Doing it with closed legs is the ideal form though so I don't know why you say that's unfortunate. Along with the points mentioned by Coach, you are also not reaching full protraction at the top and the lean looks very little at the top.

Actually that's my question too. Is this meant to be PPP-esque, with a full lean at the top? Or is that inconsequential next to the bent arm pl aspect?

Alessandro Mainente

I think it is a consequential aspect, you can ideally lean more as you descent along the movement or lean before and less during the descent. for example in pl push up you lean before to lower down your body then you maintain the degree of lean.

"unfortunately" is because in the video showed on F series the legs are not closed, so if the video shows the ideal execution, i'm not doing it.

Probably to address the Coach's suggestion i nee to start with toes pointed and modify the hands position, it's quite stressing at this level of lean.

Alessandro Mainente

i will spend some more training days on that.

Alessandro Mainente

i have a doubt, due to may arms and lats muscle muss i feel a sort of obstruction when i'm going down, do you think is better use a large hands positioning to avoid this indirect assistance?

Alessandro Mainente

I modified my style to entry in the bap position, simply i use the neck of my feet to support the weight , in that way the as i increase the lean, the feet gently move off the floor

Don't worry, you are doing a harder version by using legs together. Your form is overall better than the demonstrated video. Demonstrated video is probably showing the least acceptable form for moving on.

Yes, I think it's better to use a slightly wider grip just enough so the arms aren't squeezed into the lats.

I've trued today the correct version, weight supported by pointed toes, lean forward until the feel naturally lift from the floor , pause for 2 seconds then push up. the push movement is a partial full pl push up while as i'm doing the ascent portion my feet return on the floor, then the pl lean position was held. sincerely i find them harder on that version. btw i reached the 5x5  but probably i'll do it again at least one time.
