Front Lever with neutral grip / prone grip

In progressions sometimes prone grip is used and in other times the neutral grip (parallel bars). Is there any reason for this?. Is one harder than the other?

I also wonder what is the best way to get into the position. Pull from dead hang, down from inverted hang or simply extend the body... I guess that will have to master all, but what is the best?

Thanks in advance.

Pronated (aka "over") grip and neutral grip are both fine. There's no major difference between them. Ideally it shouldn't matter to you which grip you're using.

There is no 'best' way to get into the position. Do what you feel like at the time. You should eventually be able to do all of them easily.
