Here a pair of Wood Parallettes I built. The dimensions are 5" and 12" tall by 48" wide with a 2" hardwood dowel. The base are 9" wide. I had to modify the 12" ones base to 14". Tatal cost to build about $40.

It looks like the base on the taller ones may be a bit on the narrow side, be careful!
I ended up tacking on a piece of 2x4x14" on the bottom of the taller one.
