Affilate profit sharing

Since this came up in the meeting yesterday, and is a topic that needs some thought on before settling on a direction, it seems to be worth starting a thread to help brainstorm.

A preliminary thought is, imo, the more carefully and clearly this is developed up front the better, to save headaches down the road.

Profit Sharing Factor

Profit sharing based on affiliate and/or athletes advancement in the GB program.

Perhaps to keep it 'simple' with all the lines of advancement, we could average the various course levels to get the 'profit sharing level'

e.g.

Gym owner Joe has F Lv 1.5, H Lv.5, M Lv0, R Lv 0, Hg Lv 0

Profit sharing factor = 1.5+.5+0/ 4+4+4+4+4 = 2/20= 1/10 * Max Profit possible  = 5% (if we set 50% max, and we have a 4 Level system for all courses)

Services and Goods Covered

- Courses sold via link out from his website

- GB Gear sold via link out from his website

- Discount GB gear purchases for his use or resell

- ???

Small note, my understanding is that Coach does not want any reselling of gear.

Let see his thoughts, I had the impression that could be softening.

In any case, at this stage, just getting ideas out, everything is open to amendment.

Coach Sommer

- I no longer have a problem with an affiliate reselling gear; if there is a way to maintain correct pricing.

Some other thoughts on yesterday's discussion:

someone must be GB certified to be eligible to become a GB affiliate.  GB certified enjoy the following advantages:
- a deep personal understanding of the GB program
- become eligible to appy for GB affiliation
- become eligible to enter the pipeline for possible selection to the GB instructor development program

GB affiliates enjoy the following advantages:
- may use GB in their name, location and class descriptions
- earn a commission on GB courses sold from their website visitors.  the commission works on a sliding scale; the higher one GB certification level the higher their level of commission.  At the very top end of GB certification, they will earn a 40% commission.  However it must also be remembered that the lower their level of GB certification the lower their rate of commision.

The GB commission sliding scale is still under development.

- may earn a discount on the purchase of GB gear (equipment, clothing and accessories).  As with the affiliate commissions there is a discount sliding scale which mirrors that of the commission sliding scale in terms of percentage off up to a maximum of 40% off.  Larger affiliates may wish to purchase gear at a discounted price for resale at their affiliate locations (rings, stall bars, ropes, power levers, tshirts, supplements etc).

The top tier of revenue sharing for GBS also happens to be 40% which keeps everything symmetrical.

Sounds good.

I think we need to have the sliding scale fully worked out before we mention this publicly. Could lead to misunderstandings otherwise.

If you think my reasoning is ok for setting up the sliding scale then I can easily draw up some tables. I just need to know how many mastery levels you anticipate for the upcoming courses.

No special rush on this.

Coach Sommer

- Yes, let's begin working on the tables.

- And absolutely yes, we want to have all of this worked out completely before mentioning.

- On a separate subject, if we are going to begin including bags, bottles, tshirts etc as a part of a swag bag for GBS students, is it reasonable to take those expenses off the top along with airfare, hotel and staff per diem?
