Hey guys, I made a quick 30s video of me doing the PlPe5 and i would appreciate it if someone could tell me if my back is good and if the lean is okay (however i was focusing on achieving the proper back form)

Hello,

your lean is insufficient. Strive for hips to be over the hands. It also looks through the video like you are constantly fighting for protraction. I see a few times your protraction is reduced and you correct it. Was your mastery of pe4 good?

Yeah,i know my lean was insufficient, i said that myself. And i agree, i was fighting for the protraction as i had done 6 sets before (i had to record it again) and was doing some heavy bench pressing before. The point of the video wasnt to critique the Pl in all, just to know if the protraction was good enough.

Thanks for replying. Ill probably have the perfect form within my next microcycle. Ill reply to this thread, if you could check that it would be great.

Have a nice day

Doing heavy bench pressing before planche leans sounds counter-productive to me because leans recruit some pecs and if you have it tired...

Try without any pec works before, just the warm up with previous PE mastered.

As for your video, I see too, like Biren, a lot of "fight" to protract. If you want to know if protraction is enough, we don't know because you don't maintain a regular protraction in whole video, so it is difficult to say something.

Also you've to understand that if you have pike hips it is even more difficult to have solid protracted and depresed back because piking in the hips makes your whole body higher.

I'd say some things:

1) Try not to go to pl already tired from bech pressing.

2) Try to record your first one sets to see how you do it with all your strenght and focus.

3) Of course, you're not ready for that long holds yet. Try to record youself with 6 seconds or 12 seconds to see less seconds with better form.

Hope it helps and record yourself a lot.

Hello Adriano,

I understand your points , it sounds stupid in retrospect to have been benching before but I it is what it is. Next time ill obviously stay off the benchpress before hand. Ill also record the first set. And youre probably right about me not being able to hold the long holds.

Im on a ill week and then i have a deload week, so expect something in two-three weeks. Thanks
