Hello-
Coach Sommer's previous post on limbers triggered another question ---
How are people incorporating press HS work into their H1 work? Choosing 1 day a week to focus? Do the press work before or after the HS1 work?

jason

You should not really focus on presses until you have at least a 30 sec handstand with good form. This will keep you from building bad press habits. Incorporate them like any other extra work. A few reps After your workout is done.

Assuming the 30sec HS criteria is met, I was considering a dedicated press day as the principal workout, with the Stalder as the main movement. The F1 endurance sets would work after as conditioning. Stalder 1x10 [Rest as needed between reps], Pike 2x5, Straddle 2x10. Perhaps ensure this workout is followed by a 2-day rest.
Curious as to yours and others' thoughts.

On top of getting a 30s hs (good form), get your splits and forward flexion (straddle and pike position). It will help with pressing. If you are starting presses, chances are you won't really be able to get in the volume that you need to dedicate a day to it. I think starting with straddle and tuck would be better followed by pike(volume wise, do as many good ones as you can).
That's my opinion
Thanks for your responses --- they have been very, very helpful.
